2010-07-30 by Audrey I went to camp with Minu and my friend Alina.  I made a friend at the camp.  Her name was Euna. I thought the camp was fun. The things that I liked were the food, the games, swimming, and swinging on the swingsThe things that I didn’t like were the toilet, the meetings, and breakfast. This is what we did every day: sweep in the morning, have breakfast, have Quiet Time, play, go to a meeting, play some more, eat lunch, have quiet hour, eat snack, play, do sports, eat dinner, have another meeting then go to sleep. There were two teams, West and East.  In each team, there were four goups. There were West 1, 2, 3, 4, and East 1, 2, 3, 4.  Alina and I were in East 3.  Minu was in East 2.  Euna was in East 4.  In each room, 2 goups slept.  East 3 and 4 were together so my two friends and I shared one room. There were a lot of things to do there.  Jump on the trampoline, seesaw, play ping-pong, play foozball.  There were a billiard table , 4 swings, and monkey bars.  Sometimes Minu and I sat on the monkey bars.  When the other kids were swinging on the swings, they swang really high.  When the kids played on the billiard table, they didn’t play correctly.  And in the first few days, there were long lines to jump on the trampoline. When were at the camp, we made a well at craft time. It was fun making it.   I really enjoyed camp.

The camp wasn’t too bad, but I wouldn’t want to go again.  Anyway when I first arrived, I didn’t know what I was supposed to do.  So, I sat down on a bench with Yohan.  After a few hours somebody called everyone into a room.  We were assigned to certain groups, went to our rooms, and settled down.  A little while later, after everybody finished organizing their stuff, all the kids went out and started playing.

Neal's Version

We got a puppy about a month ago.  Her name is Bikky.  Our Dad picked it off the street.  It was cold and wet when we got it.  Next morning one of our neighbors brought another dog that looked like the first dog.  We named her Cookie.  They were sisters.

07 June 2009

I didn’t want to go to Kyrgyzstan but when I came, it was okay. Today we went to the bazaar and it was very, very, very hot.  We bought cherries, apricots, peppers and bread.  While Neal was eating an apricot, there was a worm!  He didn’t want to eat the rest.  After that, we went to the shoe section.  I bought new sandals.  Audrey bought new shoes too. While we were walking around, we saw some chicks and baby ducks inside boxes that the people were selling.   We went to the restaurant for lunch.  We heard roosters making cock-a-doodle-doo noises there.  We went to see the chickens in the back.  They went inside the chicken house through a hole.  There was also an outdoor sink with a spout that you have to push up from the bottom for the water to come out.

When we were going back to the table, they were making cock-a-doodle-doo noises again.  And then the shish-ka-bobs came out.  There were six of them and we all got one.  Each one of them had one piece of fat which we didn’t eat.  It was the meat fat.  I sort of didn’t like it because there was blood in the meat pieces.  After that, we got gums and toothpicks.  We paid and left for home.

Yohan's One Month Reflection

I didn't want to go to Krygyzstan when I heard we were going.  But when we came, there were lots of things I liked.  We met a lot of new people, like Mr. Colin and Mrs. Maureen, and two Chinese brothers and some people we met in Korea, like Minu's friend named EunKang.  We met also these five people from America.  We had a lot of fun but they only stayed for two days.
